Start a new file. File/Import the 3DS file you want and bring smoothing up
as far as you can.
In the lower toolbar pick the object then double click. True you see the
NI have CD4 XL 7.5 and 3ds Max 6 and still use Carrara 3 for a lot of
things. I dont think I would abandon it so fast.

of 3D programs and am thinking of switching to Carrara.
I 've tried the demo for a few days. Here are my most
pressing questions
(1) I can suI happen to rely on pdf because I use another PC to work which are
not connected to the net. My work is too important and has to be free
from virus attack also anti-virus will sloww down or make Lightwave and Truespace both have HTML help (rather than PDF help).
Personally I find this very helpful (pun intended) especially if
there 's a search capability. Even better would be context-sensAnd the updates continue. So far I 've been playing
with bones some more and attempting to get Carrara to
get along with me. I think I have finally beaten it
into submission. Working on timing and mI heard about UV editing for Carrara is that a plug-in? whare can I
get it? thanks.

In lwave and c4d you can also "paint " your selection (and in c4d you
can even control the size of the "brush "). This makes it easier to

Yes I think more information about the way bezier tweeners overlap on adjacent keyframes in documented nowhere yet and shoud be better documented.
I have bang my head in the past For special effects work I think that programs like After Effects
and Combustion (and their more expensive counterparts like Shake and
DFX and/or NLE plug-ins like Boris Red) are often king. NLEsI 've been enjoying using the UV editor in Carrara3. Great job Eovia.
However making selections on parts of a model can be very
time-consuming. I really would love to see a lasso selection tool addeIt was the Silly Lights demo by Andrew Turner (see also) which got me
thinking about this particular effect
